I have a fun fancy fold card to share with you today. I saw a very cool Halloween card on YouTube by Michelle at Owl Star Stampers and thought I would give it a try. It actually came together quite easily- once I got my plan in place and figured out the dimensions. The design of my card was inspired by the beautiful fall color challenge provided by Sunday Stamps #319 Autumn Whispers.
Start with a 4 1/4" by 11" piece of Cajun Craze cardstock. Score the long side at 4 1/4" and 8 1/2". Fold the card to make a tent.Cut a 4 1/16" square and a 4 1/16" by 2 5/16" piece from Petal Pink cardstock. Emboss with the Timber 3D embossing folder.
Center the square on the card front- do not adhere yet. Cut out a window through both layers. I made a template using the lantern die cut to trace.
Cut a 2" square of vellum and sandwich between the card base and card front glue together.
From Pebbled Path cardstock cut two bugs and the lantern using the Lighting the Way dies. Attach the lantern to the card font.
Using the Lighting your Way stamp set stamp the foliage using Cajun Crazy, Calypso Coral and Petal Pink inks. Cut out with dies. Attach to the card front with glue and dimensionals.
Stamp the sentiment from Paper Pumpkin Let the Adventure Begin with Pebbled Path ink onto white cardstock. Cut with the Stylish Shapes dies. Adhere to the card with dimensionals. Attach one of the bugs with dimensionals.
Adhere the smaller piece of Petal Pink to the "bottom" of the card base. Attach the second bug with a dimensional to support the easel.
Adhere a 4" square to the center of the card to write on.
Use a battery operated tea light candle to light up your card.

ReplyDeleteDang, Suzy, this is brilliant - LOVE that the lantern is lit behind your vellum, and the pretty spray of leaves is the perfect accent! Just gorgeous! Thanks so much for playing at Sunday Stamps!
