Today's card was inspired by three challenges. Creative Colour Challenge #113 provided the color combination. The color were Poppy Parade, Night of Navy and Smoky Slate. I used the sketch from Just Add Ink #667. I switched it up just a little cy turning the card on its side. Festive Friday Challenge #0146 is honoring Remembrance Day and Veteran's Day. They have a great inspo list to pick from. The elements I went with were Red, Poppy and Gratitude. Clean and Simple may also slip in there too.
Start with a Poppy Parade card base.Cut a 5 5/16" by 4 1/16"piece of Smoky Slate cardstock. Emboss this with the houndstooth Abundant Beauty Decorative Mask. (see below for the layering of plates for this technique) Adhere this to the card base.
Cut a 2 7/8" by 2" piece of white card stock. Stamp the poppies Using the Poppy Parade stamp set (ret) and Night of Navy ink. Color with Poppy Parade blends. Layer onto a 3" by 2 1/8" piece of Poppy Parade card, Adhere to the card.
Stamp the large poppy onto a scrap of white cardstock with Night of Navy ink. Color with Poppy Parade blends. Fussy-cut and attach to the card with dimensionals.
Stamp the sentiment from Sheltering Tree stamp set (ret) with Night of Navy ink onto a 5/8" strip of white cardstock. Attach with dimensionals.
Here is a photo of the layering sandwich you need to emboss with the decorative masks.
Start with the #1 plate, then #3, the silicon mat, cardstock, the mask and finally the #4 plate.
