Christmas Karaoke

Today's card was made for #30DayChristmasCardMakingChallenge Day24. The theme was Christmas Karaoke. I'm a bit out of order with my cards for a few days. This card finally came together with some help from Tic Tac Toe Challenge #189. The three elements I worked with are December holiday, ribbon and patterned paper.

I started with the sentiment from Christmas to Remember. A snippet of a song that I would definitely sing at Karaoke. This was stamped with Garden Green ink and cut with All That dies.

A piece of Celebrate Everything DSP was attached vertically to another piece of DSP. I  then cut a piece of Granny Apple Green cardstock with the scallop from Scalloped Contour dies and attached right next to the DSP strip.

The Glittered Organdy Ribbon was tied around the card to cover the seam of the two papers. The card front was layered onto a Shaded Spruce card base.

I cut out two coordinating hearts using the Give it a Whirl dies. The sentiment and hearts were attached with dimensionals. A single Opal Round was attached for a small touch of bling.

Trio of Poinsettias

With the last few days of #30DayChristmasCardMakingChallenge, I have become out of order. Today I have a  card for Day 27, a color combination. The colors are Cajun Craze, Petal Pink and Early Espresso. When I saw this combo, I immediately thought of poinsettias. The layout of my card was provided by Sunday Stamps #296. This sketch is perfect for my flowers.

I started with an Early Espresso card base. This was layered with a piece of Petal Pink that was embossed with the Tree Rings embossing folder.

I cut a half inch strip of Cajun Craze and flagged the ends and attached that to the center of the card.

The twig elements were cut out of Early Espresso using the Tree Rings dies.

I used the Stamparatus to stamp the flowers from Ringed with Nature stamp set. I first stamped with Petal Pink. Next, I inked the stamp with Cajun Craze using a sponge dauber and a marker to add to variations in color. These were fussy-cut. Flowers and twigs were glued onto the card. Three Champagne Rhinestone Basic Jewels were used as centers for each flower.

The sentiment from the same stamp set was stamped using Cajun Craze ink. I fussy-cut it and attached to the card with dimensionals.

I finished the card with a gold Simply Elegant Trim bow.

Yummy Christmas

Today's card is inspired by Fusion Card Challenge that has a Gingerbread theme along with a sketch. I pulled out a stencil from last year and a fun stamp set from a few years ago.

For the card background I used embossing paste and Adorning Designs Decorative Masks(ret) on Cinnamon Cider cardstock.

I wrapped this piece with Real Read Ruffled Ribbon and the attached it to a Cinnamon Cider card base.

I stamped the gingerbread house and tree from the Yummy Christmas stamp set (ret) using black ink. I used blends to color the house and tree. These were cut out using the Cuckoo Clock dies (ret)

The sentiment was stamped with Real Red and Cinnamon Cider ink and cut out using Stitched Rectangle dies.

Clean and Simple

The color palette for CAS Colour and Sketches #496 said nature to me. I of course went to the Ringed with Nature Stamp Set. I tried coloring the twigs from the Tree Rings die set multiple ways. which again had me wishing there were blends for ALL the colors.

In the end, I used blending brushes to color white card with Early Espresso ink. This actually worked out well because it created a tone different from the dark cardstock. I cut the twigs out of Old Olive card and pieced them to the Early Espresso Twigs.

I stamped the other elements and fussy cut the leaves and berries.

I used second generation Early Espresso for the center of the tree cookie. I used the embossing folder and dies to cut this out.

I attached the element to a piece of white card then layered that onto Soft Succulent cardstock. The card base was thick basic white.

The sentiment was stamped using Early Espresso and attached with dimensionals.

I added gold Adhesive Backed Sequins to finish the card.

Cup of Cheer

Today's card for Day 19, Cup of Cheer, of #30DayChristmasCardMakingChallenge was helped by the sketch by Freshly Made Sketches 562

I started with a white card base. I used the winter Snow (ret) embossing folder with a piece of white cardstock.

I cut three strips of Celebrate Everything DSP and glued them to the card front.

The stamped elements are from the Warm Hugs stamp set (ret). I used Granny Apple Green, Gray Granite and black. They were cut using the Warm Wraps dies (ret) and attached with dimensionals.

Happier Thanksgiving

I'm switching gears a bit today. Instead of a Christmas card I am sharing my final Thanksgiving card. I have combined two challenges. Stampin' Up! Only Challenge #314 has a Thanksgiving/Grateful theme this time. Tic Tac Toe  Challenge #188 has many elements to fit this theme. The elements I used were Thanksgiving Theme, Thankful Sentiment and any shape die.

I love all things about the Happier than Happy stamp set. I thought it would make a great Thanksgiving card for the grands.

I started with a piece of Happy Forest Friends DSP as a backdrop for the card. I layered it onto a Crushed Curry card base.

I cut leaves out of Crushed Curry and Pumpkin Pie using Happy Forest Dies. The owl and bear were also cut using these dies. The bear was stamped with Crumb Cake and the owl with Gray Granite.

Two pumpkins were cut out of Pumpkin Pie using the Halloween Punch (ret). I added some shading to the pumpkin with blends.

The sentiment is from Beautiful Autumn (ret) and was stamped using Soft Suede ink.

Cup of Cocoa

Today is Day 18 of Martin's Mayhem #30DayChristmasCardMakingChallenge. I combined today's sketch challenge with a weekly color challenge. Creative Colour Challenge #63 has three colors to work with. Mint Macaron, Sweet Sorbet and Crumb Cake are the colors.

I started by stamping the mugs from Yeti to Party stamp set with black ink. I used the starburst from Trees for Sale stamp set to fill the empty space using Mint Macaron ink. The mugs were colored with Sweet Sorbet and Crumb Cake blends.

I layered the card front onto a piece of  Gingham Cottage DSP. This was layered onto a Crumb Cake card base.

I cut two pieces of Sweet Sorbet Glimmer Paper and a strip of Gingham Cottage and layered them on the card front.

The sentiment from Freezin' Fun (ret) was stamped with Sweet Sorbet ink.

I attached a bow made from Sweet Sorbet Baker's Twine to finish the card.

Merry and Bright

The Paper Players Challenge #617 has a color challenge this week that pairs perfectly with Day 16 of #30DayChristmasCardMakingChallenge. The Theme for this challenge is Starry Night. While I was planning what to use for my card I came across an old Paper Stack of Ombre paper. So, I brought in another challenge for this card. Retro Rubber Challenge #195 wanted an Ombre card.

The Ombre paper was from Color Theory Designer Series Paper Pack (ret). I pulled out a piece of Dapper Denim. I cut a piece to fit the card front and layered it onto a piece of black Cardstock.

I cut a piece of  Snowflake Specialty Vellum to fit on a Dapper Denim (ret) card base. I attached the card front to the vellum layer.

I cut silver foil stars using Mini Treat Bag Thinlits dies (ret) and Tree Lot dies.
I used the Joy dies (ret) to cut the bold sentiment  out of silver foil and Black cardstock.

The remaining sentiment from Peace and Joy stamp set (ret) was stamped with black ink and cut out. This stamp set and dies are from 2020.

Pretty Pines

Last week I made a card that had a forest of pink and purple trees, Today I have a card that also has a color twist. Today it is blue pine boughs and mistletoe. As You See It Challenge #287  asks the card maker to use earthy and blue tones to make a masculine card. You also had to incorporate twine and die cuts on your card. I chose Crumb Cake, Balmy Blue and Night of Navy, along with the colors in the DSP as my color scheme to work with Day 17 of #30DayChristmasCardMakingChallenge

When I started this card, I was not at all sure it would work. I went into it prepared to scrap it. In the end I was very pleased with how it turned out.

I tried a few different background layers before I settled on this piece from Painted Christmas DSP. I am down to my final scraps of this paper.

I backed the DSP with Night of Navy and layered it onto a Crumb Cake card base.

The sentiment from Christmas Pines was stamped with Night of Navy ink onto Crumb Cake card. It was cut using Tailor Made Dies. The tag was tied with a few strands taken from the Silver Threaded Twine.

The remaining elements were cut using the Pretty Pines dies.

Nostalgia

The colors and patterns of the Celebrate Everything, especially the Christmas prints, are definitely throwbacks to those from my childhood. They seemed perfect for Day 12: The Past of  the #30DayChristmasCardMakingChallenge. I used the sketch from Hand Stamped Sentiments Sketch Challenge #401

I started by covering the front of a white card base with Celebrate Everything DSP. Two strips of another pattern attached to the left side of the card.

The sentiment from Christmas to Remember was stamped with Granny Apple Green and cut out using Stylish Shape dies.

Foliage from Peace and Joy stamp set (ret) were stamped with Shaded Spruce and Granny Apple Green. They were fussy-cut and adhered to the sentiment circle.

Red Rhinestone Basic Jewels (ret) were added as holly berries. A white Baker's Twine bow was added to finish the card.

Is it Christmas Yeti?

Creative Colour Challenges #62 required the colors Tahitian Tide, Shaded Spruce and Night of Navy. Tahitian Tide Glimmer Paper led me to snow and the Shaded Spruce had me thinking of tree. I stuck with the snow and switched from trees to the mountains in the Yeti To Party stamp set.

The Yeti and presents were stamped with black ink onto white cardstock. I fussy =cut them out and colored with Stampin' Blends.

The mountains were stamped with black ink onto Celebrate Everything DSP. These were fussy-cut out. I used Snowfall Accents Puff Paint to add snow to the mountain tops.

These elements were adhered to a piece of Glimmer paper that was cut using the Stitched Rectangle dies.

The card front was attached to a piece of the DSP. This was adhered to a Night of Navy card base.

The sentiment was stamped with Tahitian Tide and cut out using a banner from the Stylish Shapes Dies.

Snowflakes

Can you feel it? The air has definitely turned crisp here in the PNW and there is plenty of snow on the mountains. CAS Colours and Sketches Challenge #495 has a sketch challenge this week that I combined with Day 11: Something White of #30DayChristmasCardMakingGhallenge

Tahitian Tide has become my go to accent for all things snow lately. I used ink to blend a bit of color on the card.

I also colored Iridescent Rhinestones Basic Jewels. I also used a piece of Tahitian Tide Glimmer paper as a middle layer.

The sentiment from Christmas to Remember was stamped with Tahitian Tide ink and attached with dimensionals.

I used the Gingerbread (ret) dies to cut the snowflakes from white cardstock.

TBT: Thankful

I have been holding on to this piece of paper and one more six by six piece from the Blackberry Specialty DSP. It was a gorgeous pack from last year. This holiday season I am determined to put a dent in my stash of paper. The Paper Players #616 Theme challenge this week is "Give Thanks". That is the inspiration for my card today. I let the DSP do the work.

I framed the DSP with a layer of Brushed Metallic cardstock. I wrapped a piece of Gold Shimmer Ribbon around the layers then adhered to an Early Espresso card base.

I cut a thin strip of Early Espresso and attached that on top of the ribbon.

The sentiment from Sheltering Tree stamp set was stamped with Early Espresso ink onto Grey Granite cardstock.

A Gold Shimmer Ribbon bow was attached to finish the card.

Purple and Pink Pines

It is Day 9 of #30DayChristmasCardMakingChallenge. Today is a color challenge. Polished Pink, Blackberry Bliss and Fresh Freesia are the required colors.

To me these colors are a bit nontraditional for Christmas so I ran with it.

I started with a piece of Celebrate Everything DSP. I layered this onto a white card base.

The snow banks were cut using the Basic Borders dies and embossed using the Wintry 3D embossing folder.

The trees are stamped from all three required colors using Trees for Sale stamp set. They were cut using the coordinating, Tree Lot dies.

The ornaments on the trees were stamped with VersaMark and embossed with Silver Embossing powder.

The sentiment from Christmas to Remember was stamped with Polished Pink ink.

All Wrapped Up

It is Day 8 of #30DayChristmasCardMakingChallenge. Today the category is All Wrapped Up. I envisioned a stack of presents for this challenge. I pulled out a lot of Stampin' Up products that are no longer available. It is so satisfying to watch my stash of paper dwindle!

I used the Winter Snow (ret) embossing folder for a background. This was layered onto a Garden Green card base.

I cut a piece of Nordic Noel DSP (ret) and framed it with a layer of Real Red cardstock.

The presents were cut out of Real Red cardstock using Detailed Birthday Edgelits dies (ret). I cut out an outline for the presents and colored them with blends and attached to the back of the die-cut.

The sentiment from Christmas Pines (ret) was stamped with Real Red ink.

Hooray!

I got to be honest, when I first saw these colors I was going to skip this week's Just Add Ink Color Challenge #628. I have never been a big fan of Petal Pink and I was not sure how to get it to work with Blackberry Bliss and Bermuda Bay.  Then I saw the options for Tic, Tac, Toe Challenge #186 by Elizabeth. The right column brought everything together. Large Sentiment, Stars and Die-cut made the colors work for me.

I started with stamping the Ray of Light stamp with Petal Pink onto white cardstock. I used the Stamparatus.

Using the Stamparatus again I stamped the sentiment in Bermuda Bay. I re-stamped it a few times in order to get good coverage over the pink.

To complete the card front, I cut Blackberry Bliss and Bermuda Bay stars using the Give it a Whirl dies. I glued these around the sentiment.

The card front was layered onto Blackberry Bliss cardstock and then onto a Petal Pink card base.

Winter Sunset

It is Day 7 of the #30DayChristmasCardMakingChallenge. Today's challenge was to make a Winter Sunset card.

I started by doing a water color technique for the background. I used Fresh Freesia, So Saffron and Balmy Blue. I brushed ink onto the water color paper and while wet I sprinkled the Freesia and Saffron sections with coarse salt. When completely dry, brush off the salt.

I used the snowdrift stamp from Penguin Place to add dimension to the Balmy Blue ink while paper was wet.

The Trees and dog were cut using the Tree Lot dies. The footprints and dog were stamped using Trees for Sale stamp set.

The sentiment is from Christmas to Remember.

I added Iridescent Rhinestone Basic Jewels for some sparkle.

Joy

My card today is for CAS Colours and Sketch Challenge #494. It is a color challenge with Pear Pizazz, Rich Razzleberry and Mint Macaron. I went with the Christmas theme because I am one week into a Christmas card making marathon.

I started with the word Joy cut using the Joy dies from a few years back. I cut the three layers using Rich Razzleberry, Vellum and Brushed Metallic cardstock.

Next I used the coordinating Peace and Joy stamp set to add some foliage. I used Pear Pizazz, Rich Razzleberry and Mint Macaron inks.

The sentiment was stamped with Pear Pizazz and attached with dimensionals.

I colored the White crinkled Seem Binding Ribbon with the discontinued Rich Razzleberry blend. After attaching the card front to a layer of Rich Razzleberry card. I tied the ribbon around the card. (I don't even want to think about how long I fiddled with the bow!)

The card layers were glued to a thick white card base. I colored Iridescent Rhinestone Basic Jewels and added them to finish off the card.

Field of Trees

Today I have a Christmas Card that was inspired by Martin's Meyhem   #30DayChristmasCardMakingChallenge. It is Day 6 and the category is Something Green. I first pulled out the Trees for Sale set again and then I remembered a coloring challenge. Stampin' Up! Only Challenge #313 is all about coloring.

This card came together pretty quickly due to the fun Celebrate Everything DSP. I picked Evening Evergreen as my main color because I wanted to use the Windowpane Check Ribbon.

I started by coloring a piece of the DSP. I used Evening Evergreen, Mossy Meadow, Daffodil Delight and Soft Suede blends.

I backed the DSP with a piece of Daffodil Delight cardstock. After wrapping the ribbon and making a bow I attached the card layers to an Evening Evergreen card base.

The sentiment from Celebrate with Tags stamp set was stamped with Evening Evergreen. I cut it out with the stitch rectangle dies. Then I created a thin green border and attached it with dimensionals.

Poinsettia Trio

Today is Day 5 of Martin's Mayhem #30DayChristmasCardMakingChallenge. Today is a sketch challenge. I pulled out the Painted Christmas DSP, Wintry 3D embossing folder and Ringed with Nature stamp set to make today's card.

I Cut two pieces of Painted Christmas DSP and attached them to the Real Red card base. I then cut a piece of Evening Evergreen cardstock and used the Wintry 3D embossing folder and glued it to the card.

I stamped the poinsettia from the Ringed with Nature using Real Red ink. I stamped six of the small leaves using Pear Pizazz ink. These were fussy-cut out and glued to the card front.

The sentiment was stamped with Pear Pizazz and attached to the card front. I attached Champagne Rhinestone Basic Jewels as flower centers.

In-Color Snowflakes

Three of the 2022-24 In-colors are part of Colour INKspirations Challenge #132. Orchid Oasis, Starry Sky and Tahitian Tide join with Old Olive. In my mind, I kept toying with a way to make a snowy background for some pine trees. That thought evolved into using the In-color glimmer paper to make some sparkling snowflakes with the Old Olive as a supportive background.

I started with an Old Olive card base layered with a piece of Vellum cardstock.

The snowflakes were cut using Snowfall Thinlits dies (ret) out of In-Color Glimmer Paper.

The sentiment from Christmas Pines (ret) was stamped with Orchid Oasis ink and cut using the Tailor Made Tags dies.

The tag was attached with Old Olive Twill Ribbon.

I added In-Color Decorative Matte Dots to add some fun.

Forest of Trees

Today is Day 4 of Martin's Mayhem #30DayChristmasCardMakingChallenge. Today is a color challenge using Crumb Cake, Cherry Cobbler and Evening Evergreen. I combined these colors with Freshly Made Sketches #560.

I started with a 4 1/4 inch Crumb Cake card base. I cut 2 panels out of Evening Evergreen and embossed them with the Wintry 3D embossing folder. They were glued to a piece of Cherry Cobbler cardstock.

I cut a circle out of Crumb Cake cardstock using the Layering Circles dies. I stamped three trees Using the Trees for Sale stamp set using Evening Evergreen ink.

Two more trees were stamped and cut out with the coordinating Tree Lot dies. These were added using dimensionals.

Stars were cut from Brushed Metallic cardstock using the Tree Lot dies. and glued to the circle. The circle was backed with a Cherry Cobbler scalloped circle.

The sentiment was stamped onto Crumb Cake using Cherry Cobbler ink. After flagging the ends, I attached the sentiment to the card.

A bow made from Gold Shimmer Ribbon was added to add some more sparkle.

Happy Birthday

Today I have a birthday card inspired by 2 challenges. Anne Marie gave us a Tic-Tac-Toe board over at The Paper Players Challenge #615. I went for the middle column of elements. They included die-cut, texture and birthday. The colors for my card are from Creative Colours Challenge #61, Daffodil Delight , Orchid Oasis and Melon Mambo. The layout of this card is a CASE of a card I saw a while back on Instagram by Stamp with Brenda. I loved all the layers.

I started with an Orchid Oasis card base. This was layered with a strip of Daffodil Delight that was embossed using the Gingham folder.

Next, I added a layer of Design a Daydream DSP. This was topped with white cardstock that was cut using Scalloped Contours dies. I splattered this piece with the three required colors.

The heart was cut using the Celebrations Tag dies out of Melon Mambo and Daffodil delight. The two hearts were glued together.

I used the Scalloped Contour dies to cut a strip of In-Color Glimmer Paper to accent the sentiment. The sentiment from Happiness Abounds was stamped with Melon Mambo Ink.

To finish the card I added a In-Color Baker's Twine bow and Glossy Dots.

Warm and Cozy

It is Day 3 of Martin's Mayhem #30DayChristmasCardMakingChallenge. The category for today is Warm and Cozy. The colors in this card remind me of a favorite wool pea-coat and a red flannel scarf. Knit mittens are always a cozy part of winter.

I used the Wintry 3D embossing folder to create two panels of white card stock. The Real Red Ruffled Ribbon was used to cover the seam. This was then attached to a Crumb Cake card base.

The tag was cut using Celebrations Tag dies from Crumb Cake. I cut half of the tag from the Gingham Cottage DSP. I trimmed it to fit the front of the tag. A bow of white Baker's Twine was attached to the tag.

Two mittens were stamped using the Celebrate with Tags stamp set. They were cut using the dies and attached to the tag front.

The sentiment from the Tags set was embossed with white embossing powder onto Crumb Cake. It was cut out using Stitched Rectangle dies.

I colored Classic Matte Dots with Real Red blends and attached them to the front of the card.
