Driving By

Hello Stampers, I have  a fun little birthday card for a little guy who is turning three. He has a love of cars. so I wanted to be sure to put one on his card. I thought the sketch provided by Freshly Made Sketches #572 would work well for this card. Just Add Ink Colour Challenge#639 provided the colors for my card. I loved that all three colors had beautiful patterns in the Flowers and More DSP.

I started by cutting a 4 1/4" by 2 1/2" piece of Tahitian Tide Flowers and More DSP. I glued it to a Tahitian Tide card base.

Using the second largest circle in the Stylish Shape dies I cut a circle from the Polished Pink DSP and one from the Orchid Oasis DSP. I glued them to the card front.

I cut the three out of white cardstock using the Alphabet A La Mode dies and attached it to the pink circle. I stamped the car from the Driving By stamp set (ret) and colored it with Polished Pink, Tahitian Tide, Orchid Oasis, Smoky Slate and Black Stampin' Blends. After fussy-cutting the car and detaching the balloons, I attached the car with dimensionals to the card front. I glued on the balloons.

The sentiment is from the Sweet Songbirds stamp set. I stamped it with black ink onto a white strip of cardstock. It was attached with dimensionals.

PP627 with Shaded Summer

Hello All! It's Sunday again and that means there is another great challenge over at The Paper Players.

I have seen this style of card a few times recently on social media and I thought it might be fun to try. I don't know if this technique has a name, I think someone called it a Fence Card. bibicameron on Instagram has a good reel that shows how to make this style of card.

Ann is bringing a beautiful selection of colors to play with this week. These colors definitely said Spring to me. I am certainly ready for Spring to arrive. So grab all your goodies and come play with us.

For my card I started with a 4 1/4" by 11" piece of thick white cardstock. I folded the card in half to make a standard card base. To make the fencing, I cut six 3/8" strips from the bottom of the card front. Then I took four of the strips and aligned them horizontally leaving equal spacing between the strips ensuring that the card front measures 4 1/4" by 5 1/2". I used Post it tape to temporarily hold the strips in place. With the remaining two strips, I created fence posts on each side of the card front. I cut off the extra cardstock flush with the bottom strip. 

Using the Summer Shadows dies, I cut the flowers and leaves for this card from the challenge colors and from vellum. I adhered a vellum die cut behind each of the colored elements. I then attached the flowers and leaves to the card front.

For the little tag, I stamped the sentiment from Hydrangea Haven with Crumb Cake ink. The tag was cut using the coordinating, Hydrangea dies. I tied a small bow onto the tag with the Crumb Cake Baker's Twine. The tag was attached to the card front with dimensionals. I added Elegant Faceted Gems to add a bit of sparkle to the card front.

Painted Poppies

 Hi All,

My card today was inspired by two great challenges. Creative Colour Challenge #75 has three colors to work with. the colors were Cherry Cobbler, Daffodil Delight and Sahara Sand. The layout for my card came from Sunday Stamps Challenge #302.

First the stamping, using black ink I stamped the flowers from  the Painted Poppies stamp set onto white cardstock. I stamped the sentiment from Flowering Tulips onto Daffodil Delight cardstock.

Next the die-cuts, using the two largest ovals from the Stitched Shape dies (ret) I cut a frame from Sahara Sand cardstock. I cut the leaves from Vellum using the Poppy Moments dies.

I cut a 3 15/16" by 5 3/16" piece of Daffodil Delight Design a Daydream DSP. I layered this onto a 4 1/8" by 5 1/4" piece of Cherry Cobbler cardstock. This was layered onto a Sahara Sand card base. 

The poppies were colored with Cherry Cobbler blends and the fussy-cut them. I cut the sentiment piece into an oval and glued it to the back of the oval frame.

I glued the oval to the center of the card front. I taped some vellum leaves to the backs of the flowers and the attached the flowers around the oval with dimensionals. 

I added some Iridescent Rhinestone Basic Jewels to finish the card.

Galentine's Day

I made a sweet card today for a sweet friend. The theme for Stampin Up! Only Challenge #319 is Galentine's Day. Retro Rubber Challenge #199 has a color challenge that goes perfectly with my card. Their Tickled Pink challenges allows for white, cream, pink green or silver. I chose white, green and pink for my card. I used the Stamp Set Bloomin Love from 2016 and the coordinating Bloomin Heart Thinlits dies.

I started with a 5 1/4" by 4" piece of Petal Pink Country Floral Lane DSP. I layered this onto a 5 3/8" by 4 1/8" piece of Mint Macaron cardstock.

I backed a piece of Mint Macaron Country Gingham DSP with Foam Adhesive Sheets. I used the Bloomin Hearts die (ret) to cut out the heart. I attached the heart to the center of the card front.

I cut out the flowers from Petal Pink cardstock. Then I stamped the flowers from the Bloomin' Love stamp set with Petal Pink ink. The flowers were glued onto the heart. Iridescent Pearls Basic Jewels were placed in the flower centers.

I wrapped the card front with white Baker's Twine and tied it with a bow. The sentiment was stamped with Mint Macaron ink and cut out using the Stylish Shapes dies. I attached the sentiment with dimensionals.

Celebrate with Cupcakes

For today's card I combined an old bundle with current colors and products. The inspiration for my card came from three challenges. Just Add Ink #638 had a Just Choose Two challenge this week. The choices were candles, cake and celebration. I went with (cup)cake and celebration. The sketch for my card came from Inspire Create Challenge #135. For my colors, I went with TGIF Challenges #406. They provided some interesting colors, Tahitian Tide, Smoky Slate and Gorgeous Grape.

The Tahitian Tide DSP was my jumping off point for my card. I cut a 2 7/8" by 5 1/4" piece of DSP. I layered it onto a 3" by 5 3/8" piece of Smoky Slate cardstock. This was glued to a Gorgeous Grape card base.

Using the Detailed Birthday Edgelits dies (ret), I cut the cupcakes from the In-Color Glimmer Paper. I attached the cupcakes to a 1 5/8" by 4 1/8" strip of Smoky Slate cardstock. The strip was glued to the card front.

I cut a out Gorgeous Grape label using the Something Fancy dies. I then embossed it with a retired embossing folder that looked like frame and confetti. I don't know the name of it. I then glued it to the card front.

I cut a Gorgeous Grape scalloped circle and a white circle using the Layering Circle dies. The cupcake from the Birthday Cheer stamp set (ret) was stamped on a scrap of white and another on a piece of the Hues of Happiness DSP. Both were fussy-cut and I glued just the cupcake paper to the white cupcake. I colored the sprinkles with Tahitian Tide blends and added Wink of Stella to the frosting. The circles were layered and glued to the card. the cupcake was attached with dimensionals.

The sentiment from Birthday Bonanza (ret) was stamped with Gorgeous Grape ink and attached with dimensionals to the card. I finished the card with a bow made with Tahitian Tide In-Color Baker's Twine.

Shower of Hearts

Today's card was inspired by two fun challenges. At Freshly Made Sketches #571 Jen provided a versatile sketch to work with. As You See It #291 gave a bright and bold color combination. While making choices for my card, I inadvertently pulled out Starry Sky instead of Night of Navy and did not realize my mistake until just now while creating this post. 

I started by cutting a 5 1/2" by 4 1/4" piece of Starry Sky Dainty Flowers DSP. I glued it to the front of a thick white card base. 

I cut a 2 1/2" by 4 1'4" piece of Sweet Sorbet cardstock and a 2 3/8" by 4 1/4" piece of white cardstock. I layered the white onto the red and glued this to the card front. 

I used the Give it a Whirl dies to cut out multiple hearts from Sweet Sorbet, Polished Pink and Tahitian Tide cardstock. I glued the largest and smallest hearts to the white panel. The medium stars were attached with dimensionals. 

I used Starry Sky In-Color Matte Decorative Dots to fill in some blank spaces. 

The  sentiment from the Country Bouquet stamp set was stamped onto white cardstock with Starry Sky ink.

PP626 and Music from the Heart

Hello All! 

Today is Sunday and that means it must be time for a brand new challenge from The Paper Players. 

I reached deep into my shelves and pulled out this fun stamp set, Music from the Heart from Stampin Up (ret). I love it when things from my stash work well with current products.

This is a great stamp set that is very versatile because of the sentiments.

LeAnne has a great Theme Challenge to play with this week, A Song in the Air. So grab your stamps, inks and papers and create with us.

For my card, I started by cutting a piece of 3 7/8" by 5 1/8" white card stock and embossed it with the Gingham embossing folder (ret). This was layered onto a 4" by 5 1/4" piece of Sweet Sorbet cardstock and then glued to a Crumb Cake card base.

I cut a 2" by 4 1/2" piece of Sweet Sorbet Country Gingham DSP and layered it onto a 2 1/8" by 4 5/8" piece of Sweet Sorbet Cardstock. I then glued tis to the right side of the card front.

After cutting a Crumb Cake Tag, using the Tailor Made Tags dies, I stamped various music noted with black ink. I attached a Real Red ribbon tied with a Sweet Sorbet Baker's Twine bow. This was attached with dimensionals. 

I stamped the sentiment and music note onto white cardstock with black ink. Then stamped on some Sweet Sorbet hearts. I used the Stylish Shapes dies to cut out the circle. This was attached with dimensionals and glue.
