Fabulous Paper Fun Fold

Today I have a cheerful card inspired by two great challenges. One challenge is one that I have been following and participating in for a long time. TGIF Challenges #409 is a technique challenge of layered shapes. The next challenge is a new one for me. Festive Friday Card Making and Paper Crafting Challenge #FF0128. This challenge gives you an Inspo list of 10 items to work with, they ask you to use at least three. The three elements I picked are notes, supportive sentiment and ink blending.

I am in love with this bright paper. The Flowers and More DSP has so many fun patterns it is impossible to pick a favorite.

To begin my card, I started with a 4 1/" by 9 1/4" piece of Sweet Sorbet cardstock scored at 3 3/4" I cut a 5 1/4" by 4" piece of the dotted DSP for the inside. I tied some Real Red ribbon into a bow around the DSP before attaching it inside the card. I cut a 3 1/4" by 3 3/4" piece of white cardstock for inside the card for a sentiment or writing.

For the card front, I cut a 3 1/2" by 4" piece of the Sweet Sorbet DSP and glued it to the card base. The next layer is a 3" by 3 1/2" piece of Sweet Sorbet cardstock.

For the image layer, I cut a 2 3/4" by 3 1/4" piece of white cardstock. Using a blending brush I added some Pale Papaya ink. With the Music from the Heart stamp set (ret.) I stamped the notes and treble clef with black ink. The small hearts were stamped with Flirty Flamingo ink. I colored the other hearts with Sweet Sorbet blends. This piece was layered onto the card.

The sentiment was stamped with black ink and cut out using the Stylish Shapes dies. I cut a second flagged banner out of Sweet Sorbet cardstock and used it to back the sentiment banner. This was attached to the card with dimensionals.

Lucky Clover

Hi Guys, Today's card was inspired by Paper Craft Crew Challenge #506. They have a Color Challenge that worked perfectly for a St. Patrick's Day card. They gave 4 green colors along with gold metallic and you had to use at least three colors. I picked the gold and Granny Apple Green and Shaded Spruce.

I started by stamping Rays of Light with Granny Apple Green ink onto a 5 3/16" by 3 15/16" piece of white cardstock. This was layered onto a 5 5/16" b4 4 1/16" piece of Gold Brushed Metallic. Then mounted onto a Shaded Spruce card base.

I used the Lucky Clover punch to cut out a Shaded Spruce clover and attached it to the card front. Next I stamped the backside of a piece of the gold Brushed Metallic cardstock. (Warning: The ink does smear.) I used the punch to cut it out. With the gold side down I used my scoring tool to trace the swirls to add some texture to the gold side. I attached this clover with dimensionals leaving some of the green clover showing.

The sentiment from the Lucky Clover stamp set was stamped with Shaded Spruce ink onto a 1/2" strip of white. I flagged the ends and attached it to the card with dimensionals. I added Pastel Adhesive Backed Sequins to finish the card.

Paper, Dies and Just a little Bit of Stamping

Hi All,

My card today, was inspired by the TIC Tac Toe Challenge #198. Felicita brought some great elements to pick from. The three squares I went with were die-cut, free and Spring. The Spring colors I went with were provided by SU! Color Challenge for February. There colors were Daffodil Delight, Garden Green and Highland Heather.

For my background I cut a four inch wide strip from the purple and green Enjoy the Journey DSP. I cut with scissors along the outline of the Garden Green mountains. I layered it onto the Highland Heather portion of the paper. I then cut the piece to measure 4" by 5 1/4".

I layered this piece onto a 4 1/8" by 5 3/8 piece of Daffodil Delight cardstock. Then I attached all of this to a Garden Green card base.

The flowers and butterfly were cut out of white cardstock using the Meadow dies. I used a blending brush and Garden Green ink to color the stems and leaves. I used Daffodil Delight and Highland Heather blends to color the flowers. For the butterfly, I used Highland Heather blends and ink.

I colored three of the Pearl Basic Jewels with the dark Daffodil Delight blend and attached them to the flower centers.

The sentiment from the Happiness Abounds stamp set was stamped with Garden Green ink. I used the Tailor Made Tags dies to cut it out. I tied a double linen bow and attached it to the tag.

PP629 with Lucky Clover

Happy Sunday Everyone,

The Paper Players have a new challenge to play with this week. Here is a little sneak peek at the beginnings of my card.

With March being right around the corner, I decided to work with the Lucky Clover stamp set. After finding some Springy patterned paper, I decided on Granny Apple Green ink to stamp the image.

Jaydee has a fun sketch challenge for us this week. As you will see, I made a square card that has a circle in the center. This is a great sketch perfect for any occasion.

The Paper Players team have some very creative cards to give you some inspiration. Stop by the Challenge page to see what everyone has created. While you're there feel free to drop us a little note.

I started by making the shaker portion of my card. I used the layering circle dies to make the green frame using Granny Apple Green cardstock. I used the largest scalloped die and the second larges circle. I cut a piece of window sheet with the largest scallop. I used glue dots to attach the window to the back of the frame. I used thin strips of dimensional adhesive to outline the backside of the frame, making sure to leave no gaps.

I stamped the shamrock onto white cardstock using Granny Apple Green ink. I used the second largest smooth circle die to cut it out. With the adhesive side up  I added some of the Loose Daisy Embellishments onto the window sheet. Then very carefully I attached the shamrock circle to the window frame.

I cut a 4" square out of the Granny Apple Green Dandy Designs DSP And layered it onto a 4 1/4" card base.. Next I attached the shaker circle to the center.

I stamped the sentiment with Granny Apple Green ink and cut it out with the Stylish Shapes dies. I attached this to the card using glue dots and dimensionals.

I hope you join us at The Paper Players this week. We would love to see what you create for this Sketch Challenge. You can enter your project from now until noon PST on Friday, March 3, 2023. See all the rules and requirements on the challenge page.

Sale A Bration CASE

Hi Everyone,
Today I have a card that is inspired by Stampin' Up! Only Challenge #320. This is a CASE challenge, Copy and Share Everything. They picked a page from the Sale A Bration brochure to work from, page 5.

I started by cutting four  4 1/4" by 1" strips of different patterns of the Dandy Designs DSP. I glued these to a Petal Pink card base leaving 1/2" at the top and the bottom and even spacing in between.

I stamped the Adorable Owl with black ink onto white cardstock. I used Crumb Cake, Petal Pink, Calypso Coral, Fresh Freesia, Balmy Blue and Mango Melody (ret) Blends. Then I fussy-cut the owl.

I stamped the tree cookie onto white cardstock using the Ringed with Nature stamp set and Petal Pink ink. I used the Tree Ring embossing folder and Petal Pink cardstock to make the bark. I cut it out using the coordinating, Tree Rings dies. I glued these together and attached them to the card front. I attached the owl using dimensionals.

I stamped the sentiment from Charming Sentiments with Calypso Coral ink. I cut it out with the coordinating, Sentiment Silhouettes dies. I attached this with glue dots.

To finish my card I added Fresh Freesia Loose Flower Flourishes with glue dots.

Dainty Flowers DSP

Hi all, Today I have a quick card that showcases some Sale A Bration products. TGIF Challenge #408 requested projects that use items from Sale A Bration. I used the Dainty Flowers DSP and the Sending Support stamp set.

I started with a 4" by 5 1/4" piece of the Dainty Flowers DSP and glued that to a Blushing Bride card base.

A 1/2" by 5 1/4" strip of the Blushing Bride DSP was layered to the left side of the card front. Next I used the Scalloped Contours dies to cut a 1 1/2" by 5 1/4 " piece of the Starry Sky DSP. I glued it to the card front overlapping the Blushing Bride just a bit.

The sentiment from the Sending Support stamp set was stamped with Starry Sky int. I attached this to the card front with dimensionals.

Brushed Butterflies were added to finish the card.

In-Color 21-23

Well, It will soon be time to say goodbye to the 2021-23 in-colors. I will  miss most of them, especially Polished Pink.. I was never a fan of Pale Papaya. My card today uses three of the colors, Polished Pink, Fresh Freesia and Evening Evergreen. Inspire, Create. Stamping Challenges #136 has a color challenge this week that requires those three colors plus Pear Pizzazz.

I started with a 5 1/4" by 4" piece of white card stock that I embossed with the Timeworn Type embossing folder.

I cut a 2" by 4" piece if the Polished Pink Enjoy the Journey DSP. I tore the paper lengthwise until it was about 1 1/2" wide. I also cut a 2" by 4" piece of the Fresh Freesia Hues of Happiness DSP. I tore it until it was about 1 1/4" wide. I glued both to the embossed cardstock.

I stamped flowers and leaves from the Happiness Abounds stamp set using Evening Evergreen ink onto white cardstock. I colored the flowers with Fresh Freesia Blends and the leaves with the Pear Pizazz Stampin' Write marker. They were cut out using the coordinating Blossoming Happiness dies.

The sentiment was stamped with Evening Evergreen ink and cut with the Stylish Shapes dies. I tied the Evening Evergreen Windowpane Check Ribbon around the card front and then attached it to an Evening Evergreen card base. I added the sentiment and In-Color Jewels (ret.) to the card.

Color & Contour

Hey All,

The card I am sharing today is inspired by CAS Colours and Sketches Challenge #504. It is a color challenge that requires Balmy Blue, Sweet Sorbet and Mint Macaron. I pulled out some pretty DSP and combined it with the Color and Contour stamp set.

I started by cutting a 4" by 5 1/4" piece of  Country Floral Lane DSP. This piece was glues to a Mint Macaron card base.

Next I cut a 2 3/8" by 3 7/8" piece of the Mint Macaron Country Gingham DSP and layered it onto a 2 1/2" by 4" piece of Mint Macaron cardstock. Sweet Sorbet Baker's Twine was wrapped around this piece and tied into a bow. The whole piece was then glued to the card.

Using the Layering Circle dies I cut a scalloped Mint Macaron circle and a white circle. I added some Balmy Blue color to the white circle with a blending brush and added some splatters with the dark Balmy Blue blend. The circle was added to the card front with glue.

Using the Color and Contour stamp set and black ink I stamped the flower and sentiment onto white cardstock. Using Sweet Sorbet ink I added the fill to the flower. The flower was cut out using the Scalloped contour dies. Then attached to the card using dimensional and glue.

The sentiment was cut out with scissors and attached to the card with dimensionals, I added Pastel Adhesive Backed Sequins to finish off the card.

PP628 and Shaded Summer

Hello Everyone, It is Sunday once again and The Paper Players have another great challenge for you to take part in.

I Picked the Shaded Summer stamp set this week for my main image. I pulled out the Charming Sentiments for my greeting and a piece of the Design a Daydream DSP in Blackberry Bliss.

For this week's challenge, Claire has a Clean-and Simple Theme Challenge. We are challenged to make a CAS  card with a Get Well Wish. Lately, I have been in need of cards that lift people up more as an emotional Get Well rather than a physical one.

The Paper Players Team have some fabulous cards to provide you with some inspiration. Visit the Challenge page to see what everyone has created.

I stamped the sentiment from the Charming Sentiment stamp set with Versamark onto black cardstock. It was embossed with white embossing powder and cut out using the Sentiment Silhouettes dies.

For the card front I used the two large floral stamps from the Shaded Summer stamp set. I used the Stamparatus and did some masking. I started by stamping the the largest bouquet near the center of a3 7/8" by 5 1/8" piece of white cardstock. I taped over the long stem while inking the stamp with black ink so the stem would not be on the card.

I made a mask for the top portion of the large stamp and used it to cover the stamped image before stamping the smaller floral stamp. I stamped this smaller stamp set, fitting it in the top right corner.

I repositioned this stamp on the Stamparatus, turning the stamp upside down. There was some slight overlapping of the stems that would be covered by the sentiment so I didn't worry about masking this part.

I colored the flowers and leaves using Blackberry Bliss, Old Olive and So Saffron blends. The card front was layered onto a 4" by 5 1/4" piece of the Blackberry Bliss Design a Daydream DSP. This was then attached to a thick white card base. The sentiment was attached using dimensionals.

I hope you join us at The Paper Players this week. We would love to see what you create for this Clean-and-Simple Challenge. You can enter your project from now until noon PST on Friday, February 24, 2023. See all the rules and requirements on the challenge page.

Enjoy the Journey

Hi Everyone.
Today's card is inspired by The Male Room Challenge #171. They have a nature theme tis month. I knew I wanted to use my newly acquired Enjoy the Journey DSP, so when I saw the sketch provided by Hand Stamped Sentiments Sketch Challenge #407, I thought it would go perfectly.

I let the DSP do all the heavy lifting in this card. I started by cutting two 1" by 4 1/16" pieces of the Garden Green Enjoy the Journey DSP. I glued them to each end of a 5 5/16" by 4 3/16" piece of Sahara Sand cardstock.

I cut a 3 3/16" by 4 1/16" piece of a mountain scene piece of the DSP. It was glued to the center of the Sahara Sand cardstock. This card front was then glued to a Garden Green card base.

I used the He's All That stamp set and black ink to stamp the sentiment onto Sahara Sand cardstock. I used one of the labels from the coordinating All That dies. I added three Matte Black Dots to the label and attached it to the card front with dimensionals.

Butterflies and Flowers

Over at As You See It Challenge #292 it is all about your favorite things about Spring. Two of my favorite things are flowers blooming and the return of butterflies. The color scheme of my card was inspired by Colour INKspiration Challenges #137.

I started by cutting a 4" by 2 5/8" piece of Balmy Blue Country Floral Lane DSP. I layered it onto a 4 1/8" by 2 3/4 inch piece of Evening Evergreen cardstock. I glued this to a Balmy Blue card base.

Using the Stitched Rectangle dies, I cut out the 2 5/8" by 3 15/16" rectangle from white cardstock. I used the Bumblebee Home stamp set and Evening Evergreen ink to stamp the stalk of flowers. I colored the flowers using Polished Pink and Evening Evergreen blends. Using Orchid Oasis, I flicked some splatters onto the rectangle.

I backed the white rectangle with a 2 11/16" by 4 1/16" piece of Balmy Blue cardstock. A 2 7/8" by 4 1/4" piece of Evening Evergreen backed this card front.

I tied a piece of Polished Pink Open Weave ribbon around the layers with a bow. This piece was attached to the card with dimensionals.

The sentiment from Bumblebee Home was stamped with Evening Evergreen Ink and attached to the card front over the ribbon.

I added some Brushed Brass Butterflies around the stamped image to complete my card.

GDP #381

 Hi All,

Today I made a card for the Global Design Project #381. They have a color challenge to work with this week, The colors are Fresh Freesia, Highland Heather and Blushing Bride. Making this card, again had me asking Why do we not have blends for every color? Ugh!

I started by cutting a 2 1/2" by 5" piece of the Blushing Bride Dainty Flowers DSP. This piece was layered onto a 3 3/4" by 5" piece of white cardstock. This was backed by a 3 7/8" by 5 1/8" piece of Highland Heather cardstock and then glued to a Fresh Freesia card base.

I cut a 3 1/4" square from the Fresh Freesia Dainty Flowers DSP and backed it with 3 3/8" square of Highland Heather cardstock. This was glued to the card front.

Using the large circle from the Stylish Shapes dies I cut a white circle. Using the Color and Contour stamp set, I stamped a Highland Heather leaf and Blushing Bride splatters onto the circle. The circle was glued to the card front.

On a scrap of white I stamped the flower with Fresh Freesia ink and the sentiment with Highland Heather ink. I cut the sentiment out by hand and used the Scalloped Contour dies to cut out the flower.  These were attached to the circle with dimensionals. I colored the flower center with the Blushing Bride Stampin" Write Marker.

I cut a 9" length of the Fresh Freesia Open Weave Ribbon and cut it in half lengthwise. Then I tied it into a bow and tucked it behind the sentiment.

I added some pink Adhesive Backed Sequins to finish the card.

Lovely You

Welcome.

Today's card was inspired by two weekly challenges. TGIF Challenge #407 had a very versatile sketch to work with. The colors for my card came from Creative Colour Challenges #76. I pulled out some amazing patterned paper in the three required colors; Pool Party, Sweet Sorbet and Parakeet Party, to get my card started.

I cut a 2 5/8" by 3 1/2" piece of the Sweet Sorbet Country Gingham DSP and glued it to a thick white card base. Next I cut a 1 1/4" by 3 1/2" piece of the Parakeet Party Butterfly Kisses DSP and glued it to the card base. Finally I cut a 1 5/8" by 4"  piece of the Pool Party Design a Daydream DSP and glued it to the card base.

I stamped the sentiment from the Lovely You stamp set with black ink onto white cardstock. Then I used the Something Fancy dies to cut out a label and glued it to the card front.

Using Stampin' Write markers and stamp pads, I stamped the leaves and flowers for the Lovely You stamp set. They had to be fussy-cut. They were attached to the card using glue and dimensionals.

I added some of the Pool Party Glossy Dots Assortment to add some sparkle. Finally I attached a white Baker's Twine bow to finish the card.

Heartfelt Valentine

Hi All,

Today I have a sweet notecard to share. At Tic Tac Toe Challenge #196, Elizabeth shared a board with some great elements. The elements I picked worked well to make a sweet Valentine. Heart, Patterned Paper and Doily are the elements I used. I used today's challenge at CASE-ing Tuesday #395 for my card sketch.

I started by cutting a 5" by 3 1/2" piece of From the Heart Specialty DSP (ret). I glued this to the front of a notecard.

Using another pattern of the DSP, I cut a 4" by 3" rectangle and centered it to the card front.

I cut two 4 3/4" pieces of Real Red Double-Stitched Satin Ribbon (ret). I added this to the card front with Tear n' Tape.

I attached a Flirty Flamingo Heart Doily (ret). I added some From the Heart Faceted Gems (ret).

Using the Heartfelt stamp set and Real Red ink. I stamped the sentiment onto white cardstock. I used the Heart punch to cut it out and attached it to the doily with dimensionals.
