Trio of Trees

I found a new challenge this week, The Male Room Challenge #167. I combined this challenge with a Vertical Sketch Challenge by Paper Craft Crew Challenge #490.

I started with retired Tis the Season DSP. This gave me a color scheme. The pine boughs led me to the trees from the Tree Lot dies and Trees for Sale stamp set.

The trees were stamped with Garden Green onto Garden Green Card Stock.

I also pulled out the Wintry 3D embossing folder. I used the folder on a circle cut using the Layering Circle dies from Real Red cardstock.

The sentiment from Trees for Sale was stamped with Real Red. I cut the banner using Stylish Shape dies.

I started with a Basic Gray card base. This was topped with a layer of Balmy Blue and topped with a layer of Snowflake Specialty Vellum.

A Basic gray circle was cut using the two largest Layering Circle dies. Three snowflakes cut from the required color of cardstock using the Celebrations Tag dies. These were colored with Wink of Stella to add some sparkle. All of this was adhered to the card front.

It's Banner Time

Sunday Stamps Challenge #294- Banner Time provided a fun sketch this week. I saw a card this week that used the green patterned paper and was smitten. It became the perfect layer for my card.

I pulled a coordinating piece of Celebrate Everything DSP in Poppy Parade to continue the sketch.

The flowers from Ringed with Nature were stamped using Poppy Parade. I then fussy-cut them out and attached them using dimensionals.

I cut the sprigs from Brushed Metallic card using Tree Rings dies. They were glued behind the flowers.

The sentiment stamped in Poppy Parade is also from Ringed with Nature.

Champagne Rhinestone Basic Jewels were used for flower centers.

Thanks for looking at my card. Be sure to check out the other entries in this challenge.

Ink Blended Falling Leaves

I combined three challenges and used a few different techniques for today's card. I started with Hand Stamped Sentiments Inspiration Challenge #400. They had a lovely fall themed image. The colors of Creative Colour Challenge #60; Evening Evergreen, Flirty Flamingo and Cajun Craze could combine well for fall leaves. The Paper Players Sketch Challenge #614 had a great sketch to showcase patterned paper.

I started with blending the three colors onto the leaf design of Rustic Harvest DSP. The reverse of this piece is the Cajun Craze I used as a background layer. Both pieces of DSP were backed with Flirty Flamingo.

A strip of Evening Evergreen was embossed with Timeworn Type embossing folder. This was placed across the card to match the card base.

The leaves from Hello Harvest were layered with color using sponge daubers and stamped onto Very Vanilla cardstock. They were cut using the coordinating Rustic Pumpkin dies.

The Brushed Metallic acorn was cut using the Tree Rings dies.

The sentiment is from the stamp set, Art Gallery.

I finished the card with a linen thread bow.

Thanks for looking at my card. Be sure to check out the other entries in these challenges.

Sassy Little Witch

The two sassy witches on the Best Witches stamp set epitomize my two granddaughters. They are 3 1/2 and 1 1/2 and smart, kind and sassy. My card today combined two challenges one set the colors and the other provided inspiration. TGIFChallenges #391 had a graphic to play off. Inspire.Create Challenge #128 had a great bunch of colors; Basic Black, Basic Gray, Gorgeous Grape and Pumpkin Pie.

I started by blending Gorgeous Grape onto a piece of Basic White card. Then I used white embossing powder to add some stars with the stamp from Best Witches. I also splattered Wink of Stella and Black onto card front. This was layered onto Gorgeous Grape Cardstock and then attached to a Basic Gray card base.

I stamped the witch with black ink. It was colored with Stampin' Blends Then fussy-cut. I used dimensionals to attach to the card front.

The Basic Gray bats were cut using Scary Silhouette dies.

The sentiment was from Best Witches and cut using Scary Silhouette dies.

Holiday at Home

Gingerbread is what I thing of for the holidays. Baking gingerbread cookies and making gingerbread houses. Paper Craft Crew Challenge: Inspiration Challenge 489 provided the theme for my card. CAS Colours and Sketch Challenges #493 provided the layout for my card.

I started with Real Red Ink and one of my all time favorite stamp sets, Frosted Gingerbread. I stamped some "stripes" in the lower left corner of white cardstock.

Next, I stamped the snowflake shape using Cinnamon Cider ink and cut out with the coordinating dies. I adhered it to the card front with dimensionals.

The sentiment was stamped using real red and was attached to the card front.

The card front was layered onto a thick Basic White card base with dimensionals.

Making Gingerbread Houses with my granddaughter at 10 months and 2 1/2 years. When she was done tasting, our house needed some extra spackling.

This morning I have a card created with some great colors provided by CAS Colour and Sketches Challenge #492. The colors required were Sahara Sand, Pacific Point and Pale Papaya.

I started with a Sahara Sand card base. This was layered with Pacific Point cardstock. I used the Adorning Masks and Pacific Point ink to add color to  a panel of white card stock.

I stamped the image from Shaded Summer stamp set with Sahara Sand ink and cut out with the coordinating dies, Summer Shadows.

I stamped the flowers a second time using Pale Papaya ink and fussy-cut just the flowers. I added color to the flowers using the Pale Papaya blends. The flowers were then glued in place.

The sentiment, from Happy Hedgehogs was stamped with Sahara sand and cut out using the stylish shape dies.

Trick or Treat

I plan on this being my last Halloween card for the year. But who knows there is a whole week to go. This card was inspired by the Stampin' Up! Only Challenge #312. The theme was Halloween. The sketch for this card was provided by Fusion Card Challenge. Its a versatile layout that could be used for any occasion.

I knew I wanted to use the house from the Scary Silhouettes dies on a circle background. I had a couple of color ideas for the blended background, blues and purples or yellows and orange.

I went with Pumpkin Pie and Crushed Curry. with just a little touch of Granny Apple Green.

The Crushed Curry led me to the color for the card base and the Celebrate Everything DSP.

After adhering all the layers, I added some bats and some Cute Stars Adhesive Backed Sequins.

The sentiment is from the Scary Cute Stamp Set.

Fall Foliage

Colour INKspirations Challenge #131 provided another great group of colors to use for a card. I combined these reds and browns with Tic Tac Toe Challenge #184 to make today's card. The required elements I used were foliage, twine and fall colors.

I used the Adorning Masks to blend Early Espresso onto Crumb Cake cardstock. This was layered onto Sweet Sorbet then placed on an Early Espresso card base.

Foliage was cut using Meadow dies and glued to the card front. I used Cherry Cobbler, Early Espresso and Sweet Sorbet cardstock.

The tag was stamped using Quiet Meadow stamps and attached to the card.

I tied a small piece of Sweet Sorbet Metallic Woven Ribbon to the tag using Crumb Cake Baker's Twine.

Holiday Haul

Today's card was inspired by two challenges. The Paper Players Challenge #613 provided the theme, Anything with Wheels. The sketch for this card was provided by Build Your Stash Holiday Cardmakers Challenge #27. I turned the sketch on its side to better fit my scene.

I pulled out an old favorite stamp set, Holiday Haul, to create a little scene.

Two of the papers came from Celebrate everything DSP. The snowflake paper came from the retired Nordic Noel DSP.

I used the Wintry 3D embossing folder for the top panel.

The sentiment was from Itty Bitty Greetings.

Clean and Simple

Paper Craft Crew Challenge #488 had a clean and simple challenge this week. I combined this challenge with a color challenge to create my card. Creative Colour Challenge #59 required the Stampin Up colors Cherry Cobbler, Melon Mambo and Granny Apple Green.

I started by inking acrylic block C with Cherry Cobbler ink. After spritzing the ink with water, I "stamped" it onto white cardstock. This was placed onto a Cherry Cobbler card base.

The flower from Ringed with nature was stamped using Melon Mambo and cut out. The berries and leaves were cut using the coordinating dies and colored with Granny Apple Green and Melon Mambo Blends.

The flower was attached with dimensionals. The leaf cluster was glued to the card front.

The sentiment was stamped using Granny Apple green and was attached with dimensionals.

Warm Welcome

This week's colors for Creative Colours Challenge #58 were Blushing Bride, Soft Sea Foam and Soft Succulent. I finally took the time to play with the Warm Welcome Bundle.

I started with a Soft Succulent card base. I attached a piece of same color card that was scored at every 1/2" to resemble siding.

I attached a 3/4 inch strip of Soft Sea foam near the bottom.

I wanted to find a printed paper to use for wallpaper. I found a piece of patterned Blushing Bride in the Love Blossoms DSP Stack from a few years back. Remember those?

The arm and bouquet were colored with Blushing Bride marker and Soft Sea Foam and Soft Succulent Blends.

The bow and heart were cut from the bundle dies.

I keep going back and forth about coloring the door with Soft Sea Foam!!

Thanks for looking at my card. Be sure to check out the other cards in this weekly color challenge.

Flashback Friday

Sunday Stamps Challenge #293 provided a fall photo for inspiration and color scheme for my card. I was intrigued by this color scheme when Amy demonstrated her card on World Card Making Day. I liked the touch of light blue with all the warm fall tones. Retro Rubber Challenge #193- Anything Goes sent me to my shelf of old favorites.

I pulled out the For All Things stamp set from 2014. I cut a stitched Rectangle out of white card stock for the card front. I used Pumpkin Pie, Sahara Sand and Cajun Craze to stamp the images. I used Seaside Spray for the sentiment.

I used Cajun Craze for the card base and layered it with a piece of Seaside Spray that was embossed with the Timeworn Type folder.

I added Champagne Rhinestone Basic Jewels to finish the card.

Say Boo!

Todays card is inspired by The Paper Players Challenge #612. This is a fun color challenge that led me to some patterned paper and coloring.

I went Calypso Coral for my orange. I think it made the colors softer than Pumpkin Pie would have. I like the way it mixed with Highland Heather and Parakeet Party.

Thanks for stopping by.

Autumn Leaves

Today I have a card full of fall colors, leaves and textures. I used the components of two challenges to create this card. Fusion : Autumn Leaves provided a very fall image to play off as well as a sketch. For the Tic-Tac Toe Challenge #182, I chose the center row of orange, (free) twine, and fall leaves.

The wanted the focus of this card to be orange so, I made sure to use it in multiple places.

To start I created a watercolor sheet for the leaves. I used Poppy Parade, Daffodil Delight and Pumpkin Pie. After the water coloring was dry. I stamped the leaves with Pumpkin Pie using the Colorful Seasons Stamp set. The leaves were cut using the coordinating Seasonal Layers dies.

I used the Meadow Moments embossing folder with a two inch strip of Pumpkin Pie. This was attached to the top of a Pumpkin Pie card base.

The bottom portion of the card was created by adding Mint Macron to the Timber embossing folder. The paper used was Pool Party.

The sentiment from Colorful Seasons was stamped onto Daffodil Delight using Pumpkin Pie ink.

A twine bow was added to the sentiment strip to finish the card.

The sentiment is from the same set.

To Border or Not to Border

I combined two challenges for this card. One for the colors and the other a sketch. Pool Party, Starry Sky and Pumpkin Pie are the colors set by Hand Stamped Sentiments Color Challenge #399.  In Freshly Made Sketches #556 Amy provided a CAS sketch.

Sometimes a card just doesn't come together like you think it should, My first try with this card just didn't look right. I was ready to scrap it and then decided to cut the card front down and add some layers. Voila! Much better!

A two inch strip of Starry Sky paper from  Butterfly Kisses DSP was layered on the card front. Starry Sky Baker's Twine was tied around the card front. The card front was layered on Pumpkin Pie card that was adhered to a thick white card base.

I created a floating circle using the required colors. White Summer Shadow die cuts were adhered to the circle. The circled was added to the card front with dimensionals.

The sentiment from Charming Sentiments was stamped with Starry Sky ink.

Below is my original card.

Monochrome Silhouettes

I have a card for you today inspired by Stamping Up Only Challenge #311. The challenge was to make a monochromatic card. I thought the Amazing Silhouettes stamp set would be perfect for this challenge. I also pulled out my favorite sheet from the Design a Daydream DSP, the floral Blackberry Bliss.

The DSP was layered onto a piece of white card stock and then layered onto a Blackberry Bliss card base.

I used the largest square from the Stylish Shapes Dies to cut out a square of Blackberry Bliss. I stamped the image with VersaMark and embossed it with white embossing powder. This square was layered onto a piece of white card. then glued to the card front.

The sentiment from Charming Sentiments was stamped and embossed in white. The coordinating dies, Sentiment Silhouettes, were used to cut the sentiment. I used dimensionals to adhere the sentiment to the card.

I added a bow made from a piece of white Baker's Twine that was colored with Blackberry Bliss.

I actually made two versions of this card and picked the one I liked best for this challenge.

Thanks for stopping by. Be sure to check out the rest of the cards in this challenge.
