Slimline

Today's card was inspired by two biweekly challenges. One provided the colors and the other s fun sketch for a slimline card.  This card also brings an end to a challenge I took part in all month (a bit out of order at times, but I managed to complete all 30 days). #30daycrazyfarewellchallenge Day 29 #iseeplants Pool Party, Blackberry Bliss and Mint Macaron are the colors for Handstamped Sentiments #412 Color Challenge. The sketch at CAS Colours and Sketches #509 is slimline card and of course, Clean and Simple.

My thick white slimline card measures 6" by 3 1/2". The 2 15/16" Pool Party square is layered behind the largest square from the Stylish Shapes dies.

The pot and sentiment are from the March 2023 Paper Pumpkin, Ten Years of Growth. The pot was stamped with black ink and colored with Blackberry Bliss blends. "happy was stamped with Pool Party ink and cut out by hand. Birthday was stamped with Blackberry liss ink. All were attached to the card with dimensionals.

The plant was cut from Mint Macaron and Blackberry Bliss card stock using the Flowers of Home dies. These elements were attached with glue- I forgot the self-adhesive sheets.

PP638 and Happier than Happy

 Good Morning,

Today is Sunday and that means it is time for a new challenge over at The Paper Players. I hope you all will make a project of your own and join us in this challenge. I picked an adorable retiring stamp set and die bundle and some fun coordinating paper that is also going away.

Anne Marie is bringing us a fun Tic-Tac-Toe challenge this week. For this  challenge just pick any row, column or diagonal three elements to create your project. You , of course can use more than three elements. Wouldn't it be fun to use them all? I used four. I went with the middle column of layers, die-cut and funfold. I also added patterned paper.

The design team has created some creative projects to inspire you. Stop by our challenge page to see what we made. Drop us a comment while you are there.

I started by scoring an 8 1/2" by 5 1/2" piece of soft suede cardstock at 2 1/8" and 4 1/4"
I added layers of the Happy Forest Friends DSP to the card base. Two pieces measured 1 15/16" by 5 5/16". The third measured 4 1/16" by 5 5/16".
A 2 5/8" by 3 15/16" Stitched Rectangle was cut from the DSP and layered onto a 2 3/4" by 4 1/8" piece of Calypso Coral cardstock.
Using the Happier than Happy stamp set, the bear was stamped with Crumb Cake ink. The owl with Sahara Sand. The stump with Soft Suede. The mushrooms and butterfly were stamped with Calypso Coral. All were cut with the coordinating, Happy Forest dies. The grass was stamped with Mossy Meadow ink and cut out by hand.
Trees were die-cut from Mossy Meadow and Old Olive cardstock. The above elements were attached to the front panel. The Panel was attached to the left side of the card front.

A 2 5/8" by 3 15/16" white rectangle was cut for the inside. The sentiment was stamped with Soft Suede ink. The Butterflies and mushrooms from Calypso Coral. The grass from Old Olive and the tree from Mossy Meadow. This rectangle was glued to the center.

I hope you join us at The Paper Players this week. We would love to see what you create for this sketch challenge. You can enter your project from now until noon PST on Friday, May 5, 2023. See all the rules and requirements on the challenge page.

Lightening Bugs

Hi Friends,

Today's card is all about summer memories. Living in western PA, catching lightening bugs was always a summertime activity as a child. We would catch them and put them in a jar to make our own lanterns. #30daycrazyfarewellchallenge Day 26 #iseesummer was the jumping off point for my card that took my to the Lighting the way stamp set. Creative Colour Challenge#86 provided the colors. The colors were Daffodil Delight, Poppy Parade and Basic Gray.

I started by inking an acrylic block with Basic Gray ink. I spritzed it with water and stamped a piece of 3 1/8" by 4 1/8" Shimmery White cardstock.

This was layered onto a 4 1/8" by 5 1/4" piece of Daffodil Delight cardstock and then attached to a Basic Gray card base.

The sentimant and fireflies were stamped with Basic Gray ink onto Shimmery White cardstock and cut out with the coordinating dies. The "lights were colored with Daffodil Delight. The bugs were attached to the card with dimensionals.

The lantern was cut from Poppy Parade cardstock. A 1 1/8" vellum circle was stamped with the largest "light" using Daffodil Delight. It was heat embossed with clear embossing powder, These were layered onto the card.

The sentiment was cut with the Stylish Shapes dies along with a Daffodil Delight banner. These were layered together and attached to the card.

Trio of Butterflies

 Hello All,

The #30daycrazyfarewellchallenge Day 24 #iseeacolorcombo started off my card today with a color combination of Pacific Point, Polished Pink and Parakeet Party. Two other challenges came together and provided inspiration for other elements. Festive Friday Card Making and Paper Crafting Challenge #0132 is celebrating Global Pay It Forward Day. The elements I took from their challenge were kindness sentiment, ripples, blue and envelope. Tic Tac Toe Challenge #205 also had some fun elements to play with. I went with the middle column; slimline, three and cute.

I blended the three challenge colors on a 8 1/4" by 3 1/4" piece of white cardstock. This was layered onto a 8 1/2" by 3 1/2" Pacific Point card base.

I cut the three butterflies using the Build a Butterfly dies from cardstock and layered them over vellum then cut out by hand. The butterflies were glued to the card front.

The sentiment from April 2023 Paper Pumpkin was stamped with Pacific Point ink onto a white tag cut with the Tailor Made dies. I added White Glittered Organdy Ribbon and a bow of Parakeet Party Baker's Twine. This was added to card with dimensionals.

Opal Rounds were added for some sparkle.

Hexagons

Happy Monday,

The Just Add Ink Colour Challenge #649 has an interesting color pallette to play with this week. The color are Poppy Parade, Bermuda Bay and Smoky Slate. I combined this challenge with #30daycrazyfarewellchallenge Day 23 #iseehexagons The hexagons helped me decide on a layout which led me to the floral images of the Lovely You stamp set.

Start with a 4" by 5 1/4" piece of Smoky Slate cardstock embossed with the textured Classic embossing folder. Layer this onto a 4 1/16" by 5 5/16" piece of Poppy Parade cardstock. Layer this onto a Smoky Slate card base.

Stamp images from the Lovely You stamp set with Bermuda Bay and Poppy Parade inks. Cut with hexagon die from the Something Fancy dies. Arrange on the card front and attach with glue. Use dimensionals to attache the sentiment.

Color Three Basic Pearl Jewels with the dark Poppy Pareade blend. Place them on the card.

Flowers of Friendship

Hello!

For today's card I got the layout from Freshly Made Sketches #582. The color scheme was inspired by Sunday Stamps Challenge #307 Floral Fragrance. The colors I took from their photo inspiration were Starry Sky, Evening Evergreen, Polished Pink and Blushing Bride. My paper choice was decided by the fun #30daycrazyfarewellchallenge Day 25 #iseemixdontmatch I got a little behind and out of order for this challenge in the past few days.

Start with a 3 7/8" by 5 3/16' piece of Starry Sky Butterfly Kisses DSP that is backed with a 4" by 5 1/4" piece of Polished Pink cardstock.

Blend Evening Evergreen ink onto a 2 3/4" circle. Stamp the floral image from Flowers of Friendship stamp set with Evening Evergreen ink on the circle. Color the leave with the Evening Evergreen light blend.

Stamp the flowers with Polished Pink ink onto Blushing Bride cardstock and punch out with the Flowers and Leaves punch. Layer two flowers together and attach to the circle. Add the circle to the card front.

Wrap Starry Sky Bakers Twine around the card front and tie in a bow. Attach card front to a thick white card base.

Stamp the sentiment with Polished Pink ink on a 1 7/8" circle add to the card front with dimensionals. Add some Starry Sky In-Color Matte Decorative Dots.

Pink Tulips

Hi All,

Today's card was inspired by an inspiration challenge from Hand Stamped Sentiments #411. The pink tulips are what I picked to work with. I also worked from #30daycrazfarewellchallenge Day 16 #iseesquares for the layout of my card. I used three retiring colors and a retiring stamp set.

I stamped the flowers from the Flowering Tulips stamp set with Polished Pink, Blushing Bride and Basic Gray ink. The coordinating, Tulips dies cut them out. The grasses were stamped with Pear Pizzazz ink. These were glued to the squares.

The sentiment from Flowering Rain Boots stamp set as stamped with Basic gray ink. The card front was layered onto a 4 1/8" by 5 3/8" piece of Pear Pizzazz cardstock and then layered onto a Blushing Bride card base.

PP636 and a Mischevious Mouse

Today starts  a fun new challenge at The Paper Players. I hope you all will join us and create a project of your own. I used a stamp set from a few years ago, Mischievious Mice. I also used a fun die, just a bit of patterned paper and not much else.

This week we have a Clean-and-Simple Challenge from LeAnne. There are some elements to guide you while you make your card. Be sure to include a pen, pencil or some kind of craft image to your card. And remember to keep it clean and simple.

The design team have created some creative projects to inspire you. Stop by the challenge page to see what we've made. Drop us a comment while you are there.

I used the "star" Classic embossing folder on a 4 1/8" by 5 3/8" piece of white cardstock. This was glued to a thick white card base.    I cut a 2 1/2" by 3 1/2" piece of Flowers and More DSP and attached it to the card front at an angle.    I cut a 2 1/2" by 3 3/4" piece of white card stock and used the notebook top die from Blossoming Happiness dies to cut the top.    The sentiment and image were stamped with black ink. I used Gray Granite, Daffodil Delight, Light Crumb Cake, light Flirty Flamingo, and light Melon Mampo to color the image. This was attached to the card with dimensionals.    That's it!
I hope you join us at The Paper Players this week. We would love to see what you create for this Clean-and-Simple Challenge. You can enter your project from now until noon PST on Friday, April 14, 2023. See all the rules and requirements on the challenge page.

It's All Yellow

Hello Everyone,

Today's card showcases another product that I am sad to see go. This stamp set, as well as the dies, was a real work horse and I used pretty often. The foilage could be used as filler for almost any project. I also used So Saffron, Brushed Metallic cardstock and Elegant Faceted Gems, that are all leaving.

I ws inspired today by #30daycrazyfarewellchallenge Day 15: I See Yellow for my color scheme. Tic Tac Toe Challenge #204 provided elements to bring the card together. I went with the middle column, die-cuts, free and embossing. I used an embossing folder and heat embossed with gold powder.

Crushed Curry card base

So Saffron with TimeWorn Type folder

Stitched Rectangle cut Daffodil Delight Design a Daydream DSP

Crushed Curry stamped leaves

Hello Ladybug (sans ladybug)

My card for today was inspired by CAS Colours and Sketches #508. They have a great color challenge that includes Crushed Curry, Shaded Spruce and Melon Mambo.

For this clean and simple card, I started with a thick white card base.

I used VersaMark to stamp the leaf from the Hello Ladybug stamp set on Shaded Spruce cardstock. I cut it out and glued it on the card, ink side down.

I stamped the trio of flowers with Melon Mambo ink, and the sentiment with Shady Spruce onto white cardstock. I cut them out by hand. The sentiment was adhered to the card with glue and the flowers with dimensionals.

The Medium Daisy punch was used to cut out two flowers from Crushed Curry cardstock. I layered these on top of each other using a dimensional. I used one of the Bitty Bllooms punches (ret) to stamp a flower center from Early Espress cardstock.

To finish the card I added a white Bakers Twine bow and some Pearl Basic Jewels for flower centers.

Be sure to check out the other entries in this fun challenge.
