Country Bouquet

Happy New Year to All,

My first challenge entry this year is for Creative Colour Challenges #69. I really liked this color combination and had fun playing with some new Stampin Up products. These products will be available in just a few days. The colors are Balmy Blue, Parakeet Party and Basic Gray.

I used items from the up and coming Country Floral Lane Suite. The suite includes some beautiful papers, photopolymer stamps, a punch and some ribbon and embellishments.

I started by making a floral background using the Country Bouquet stamp set with Balmy Blue and Parakeet Party ink on a thick white card base.

I used the same colors and the two-step large heart stamps to make the floral heart that I cut out using the Country Bouquet punch.

I also used the punch to cut out a Basic Gray heart and Parakeet Party leaves and a small heart.

The sentiment from the stamp set was stamped using Basic Gray ink. I flagged the right-side end.

I used the Stitched rectangle dies to cut out a Balmy Blue rectangle from the Country Floral Lane DSP and a Basic Gray rectangle. The rectangles were adhered on an angle onto the card base.

The sentiment and other paper elements were attached using dimensionals. To finish the card, I added three Balmy Blue Pastel Adhesive Backed Sequins.

Baubles and Bows

Today I have a card that combines As You See It Challenge #289 with The Paper Player Color Challenge #621. The Paper Players provided a color combination of Cherry Cobbler, Evening Evergreen, Very Vanilla and Gold. As you see it provided the theme and also a time limit, Breakneck Baubles. This was a timed challenge to be done in less than 10 minutes. With bow tying and using adhesive sheets my time was 9:54.

I started by putting adhesive sheets on Gold Brushed Metallic cardstock. Using Gingerbread dies (ret) I cut out the ornament designs. The body of the ornaments was cut out of Very Vanilla.

The sentiment from Itty Bitty Christmas (ret) was stamped with Cherry Cobbler ink on Very Vanilla cardstock.

The card base is Evening Evergreen. A layer of Very Vanilla was the next layer and topped with a Cherry Cobbler layer of Tis the Season DSP (ret)

The bows of Cherry Cobbler and Gold Ribbon finished off the card.

Snow Joy

I brought together two challenges for my card. Paper Craft Crew Challenge #496 had a Tic Tac Toe board to work with this week. The elements I went with are snowflakes, die cuts and letters. I used the holiday inspiration set by Hand Stamped Sentiments Challenge #403 for my cards theme.

I started by cutting the snowflake border from Snowman dies out of In-Color Glimmer paper. This was layered onto a piece of Snowflake Specialty Vellum.

This was layered onto a piece of Cherry Cobbler cardstock and then white cardstock and finally onto a Orchid Oasis card base.

The letters were cut from Cherry Cobbler using Little Letters Thinlits dies (ret).

The sentiment from Peace & Joy (ret) was stamped in Cherry Cobbler.

I added a few white snowflake from the snowman dies to add some accent.

Adorable Owls

Today I have a very quick and simple card for CAS Colour and Sketches #499. This week they had a color combo this week that included the colors Starry Sky, Crushed Curry and Real Red.

I started by stamping the Adorable Owl and sentiment on a piece of white cardstock using Starry Sky Ink. The coloring was done with blends.

I used the Stylish Shapes dies to cut out the sentiment and owl. I also cut out a Real Red square using the dies.

To add just a little bit of interest to the Thick White card base I scored three vertical lines.

Honeybee Home

Today's card was made using the colors provided by Creative Colour Challenge #66. The colors were Pale Papaya, Flirty Flamingo and Early Espresso. I thought these colors would go great with the Honeybee Home stamp set.

The sentiment and flowers from the stamp set were stamped on Very Vanilla cardstock using Early Espresso ink. The flowers were colored using Flirty Flamingo and Pale Papaya blends then cut using the coordinating dies, Honeybee Blooms.

I used the dies to cut more foliage from Flirty Flamingo and Early Espresso.

I embossed a piece of Pale Papaya with the Hive 3D embossing folder and then roughed up the edges. I glued this to an Early Espresso card base.

A piece of Very Vanilla was also embossed and glued to the card front. The other elements were attached to the card.

I added a bow using some old Pale Papaya Ribbon and added Elegant Faceted Gems.

HoHoHo: Take 2

Today I have a card inspired by two challenges. The Paper Players Theme Challenge #620 asked you to use Santa. I realized earlier this week that I have zero stamp sets of Santa. Luckily, I have the October Paper Pumpkin. The color scheme for my card was provided by Sunday Stamps Challenge #297. The colors I used were White, Cherry Cobbler, Soft Succulent and Evening Evergreen.

I started with an Evening Evergreen card base. Next, I inked the Wintry 3D embossing folder with White craft ink and then embossed a piece of Soft Succulent cardstock. The ink added a subtle color change that brought out the details of the snowflakes.

I cut a label from the Snowflake Specialty Vellum using the Tailor Made dies. The Santa image came from the Paper Pumpkin. I stamped the sentiment from the Paper Pumpkin stamps with Cherry Cobbler and fussy-cut it out.

I found some old Cherry Cobbler Baker's Twine and wrapped it around the panel and attached the tag.

To finish the card, I added some Adhesive backed Seasonal Sequins.

HoHoHo

Today's card was inspired by Freshly Made Sketches #564. I used elements of the October Paper Pumpkin, Ho Ho Ho.

I started with a thick white card based and layered on a piece of Mint Macaron cardstock.. This was topped with a slightly smaller piece of white cardstock.

I cut some snowflakes from the scraps from the Mint Macaron pieces from the kit using Snowfall Thinlits dies (ret). The sentiment was stamped using Cherry Cobbler ink.

I then cut a white circle using the stylish Shapes dies. All of the above elements were attached to the circle, along with the Santa.

To finish the card, I colored a Rhinestone Basic Jewel with Cherry Cobbler and added it to Santa's hat.

Silver Bells

I used watercolor as the backdrop for today's card. Creative Colour Challenges #65 required the colors Pacific Point, Coastal Cabana and Petal Pink. I thought this would make a great backdrop for some silver bells.

I started by making a color block panel using all three colors on watercolor paper. While this was drying, I worked on the other card elements.

I cut three bells, using the Gingerbread dies (ret), from silver foil that was backed with adhesive sheets. A must for these thin cut-outs.

I used silver embossing powder to put the sentiment from November 22 Paper Pumpkin on a thick white card base.

When dry, I added the water color piece to the card. Next, I attached the bells.

To finish the card I added Rhinestone Basic Jewels.

Flashback Friday

I have a card today that uses a stamp set from 2014, As luck would have it I even had some of the coordinating paper. Retro Rubber #196 is a Tic Tac Toe Challenge. The elements I picked were ribbon, heat embossing and easel.

I made a book fold card with an easel. I pulled out a  piece of Nordic Noel DSP (ret) for the card front and to set the color scheme.

I used a 4 1/4" by 11" piece of Shaded Spruce cardstock for the card base. It was scored at 5 1/2" and 6 3/4" to make the book fold. For the easel portion, diagonally score the 4 1/4" square.

The stamparatus was extremely useful when coloring the stamped images from Cheerful Christmas (ret). I colored directly on the stamps with Stamp n' Write markers.

I used the layering circle dies to cut out the image and to make a Real Red frame.

The inside pine boughs was from Sweet Little Stockings stamp set (ret).

The sentiment from Itty Bitty Christmas was stamped and heat embossed with Gold Embossing powder.

A Simple Sketch

Today's card was inspired by a simple sketch provided by The Paper Players #619. I grabbed a favorite paper and a fun bundle for this one.

The Celebrate Everything DSP provided the color scheme today. I started with a Pool Party card base and layered it with a piece of Shaded Spruce. The DSP layer went next to complete the background.

For the card front I used the Wintry 3D embossing folder with white cardstock, I backed that with a piece of Shaded Spruce.

I used the Celebrate with Tags bundle, white embossing powder and Pool Party cardstock to make the mittens. They were glued to the card front.

The sentiment from Snowman Magic was stamped with Shaded Spruce onto a strip of Pool Party.

Three Pool Party Glossy Dots were added to finish the card.

Joy Wreath

Today I'm sharing my final #30DayChristmasCardMakingChallenge. The category was Wreathed in Joy and you were asked to use an image in a different way. I went with my favorite bundle. I found inspiration from TGIF Challenge #396 and used woodgrain and foliage.

I made a book fold card with an easel. I pulled out a  piece of Poinsettia Place DSP (ret) for the card front and to set the color scheme.

I used White, Soft Suede, Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive, Crumb Cake and Brushed Metallic cardstock.

I used a 4 1/4" by 11" piece of cardstock for the card base. It was scored at 5 1/2" and 6 3/4" to make the book fold. For the easel portion, diagonally score the 4 1/4" square.

The elements of the card were stamped and/or cut using the Ringed with Nature Bundle.

The sentiment came from Joy to the World Paper Pumpkin and was embossed with gold embossing powder.

I tied a bow of Gold Shimmer Ribbon and added some Champagne rhinestones as the flower center.
